Parkland Court's new cottages
On June 1, Reynolds Lake Oconee opened twelve new cottages at Parkland Court, built inside the Village at The Landing itself. Each one sleeps a group in four ensuite bedrooms, sits a short walk from the clubhouse, and turns over on a weekly rental cycle. Twelve cottages doesn't sound like much against a neighborhood this size, but do the arithmetic on turnover. A single-family home in the Village might change owners every seven or eight years. These twelve units change occupants every seven days. Over a single summer month, guests in the cottages share the pool deck, pickleball courts, and restaurant with Village residents.
The cottages add weekly visitors to the Village's walkable core, alongside its full-time residents.
ESSĒ and the Parkland Court cottages
ESSĒ's current dining room took shape before Parkland Court opened. The Landing's clubhouse restaurant went through a full transformation in 2024, reopening under the name ESSĒ with an octagonal central bar, vaulted ceilings, and a Blue Roma Quartzite bar top with rust-colored veins that tie into the room's new upholstery. The renovation, a partnership between Reynolds and construction firm DreamBuilt with interior design by The Johnson Studio, also expanded the dining room and added a new outdoor staircase to the veranda, opening up seating that didn't exist before.

Golf at The Landing
Golf demand across Reynolds Lake Oconee didn't start climbing this year. Ahead of the Richland course's 2024 opening, annual rounds played across the community's courses had already jumped 44 percent compared to pre-pandemic levels, according to reporting in Forbes. That surge landed on a menu of courses that, at the time, didn't yet include Richland, Fenmoor, or the capacity either would eventually add.
The Landing course, the Bob Cupp design that opened in 1986 as the very first course at Lake Oconee, is walkable from most of the Village and is the default course for guests staying in a Village cottage. The 44 percent increase in community-wide rounds occurred before the Parkland Court cottages opened.
Fenmoor and course access
Fenmoor, an eighteen-hole course designed by Steve Smyers with a clubhouse from the architecture firm BLUR Workshop, is under construction in the northeast corner of the community and slated to open this fall. When it does, Reynolds will have 144 total holes of golf, trailing only Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina and Boyne's Michigan properties among American golf destinations.
Fenmoor's membership access is relevant to Village residents considering their course options. Fenmoor is being built for the Reserve membership tier specifically. Platinum members, who make up the bulk of the community and who have full access to the Landing, Preserve, Great Waters, National, and Oconee courses, will not have access to Fenmoor once it opens. Neither will guests renting a Parkland Court cottage for the week.
What actually changes for you this fall
Parkland Court adds weekly cottage stays to the Village. Planning ahead can help residents and visitors make use of its dining and recreation amenities.
- Consider booking ESSĒ two or three days ahead, especially Thursday through Saturday. The dining room is larger than it was before 2024.
- Consider an early tee time on the Landing course. Fenmoor is for Reserve members; Platinum members and Parkland Court guests will not have access.
- Weekday mornings at the pool are calmer than weekends. Parkland Court cottages operate on a weekly rental cycle.
- The three pickleball courts and the bocce lawn are part of the Village's shared amenity cluster. If you've got a regular game, check availability ahead of a long weekend.
